Workshop Reflection Part #2

Workshop Reflection for Your Blog

  1. What advice did you receive from each member of your group?  Explain each person’s advice separately and be specific.
Meredith reminded me that I needed to have a work cited page as well as add page numbers to the paper. She pointed out a few places throughout the essay where I need to answer the “why?” on the top of the  what. She was able to help me push on my thinking and I appreciated every word.

Joey was in agreement with the formatting suggestion. He also wanted to see me talk about the older generation and how they are being taught to use the new tech and whether or not it is a reason teachers are hesitant to embracing new technology.  He also suggested that I re-check the fact about social media and teens from 2012 rather than having the stat from 2009.

Lynnsey took Joey’s idea of asking how the teachers were taught to use the tech as well as to add a paragraph that talks about how the teachers feel about the training behind the new tech. Do they need more or is what is provided sufficient enough for the teacher to feel comfortable enough to use it without question?

  1. What was the most helpful piece of advice you received? Explain.
The most helpful piece of advice was that of thinking about the trainings behind the technology and being able to think if the teachers are adequately trained. I will be able to more clearly get my point across and this will be able to support the meat of my argument.

  1. What was the least helpful piece of advice you received?  Explain.
The least helpful piece of advice would have had to been the formatting changes. For the final draft I would have revised the formatting and rechecked the rules of MLA and made sure that it was accurate.

  1. What are your plans for revision?  Be specific.  I should be able to understand exactly how your work will change in exactly which places.
I plan on overhauling this piece. It needs to be worked a lot. I was very ill when it was written and I do not think that it flows that well. I need to add a paragraph or two on the trainings of the technology as well teacher’s opinions towards the trainings and the technology in general. Is it too much too soon or is it beneficial to the lesson? Does it offer a more unique and in depth experience and does it offer something textbooks could never?
